St. Hildegard Abbey

St. Hildegard Abbey is far more than a peaceful place with beautiful views over the Rheingau. Day visitors can discover the impressive abbey church, admire its distinctive Beuron-style art, visit the information room between the church and the monastery shop, join the sisters’ prayer services, browse the monastery shop and vinothek, and taste wines from the abbey’s own award-winning winery. The inclusive monastery café is another lovely place to take a break and enjoy the special atmosphere above Rüdesheim.

For guests who would like to combine culture with the outdoors, the abbey is also a wonderful stop on local walking routes. The 6.7 km Rüdesheimer Hildegard Trail was created especially for Hildegard enthusiasts and the many day tourists visiting Rüdesheim, and it connects the abbey with important places linked to St. Hildegard. Larger groups can also arrange talks or visits in advance.

Niederwald Monument

A visit to the Niederwald Monument is, in our view, one of the most beautiful experiences in Rüdesheim and a true highlight of any holiday in the Rheingau. Set high above the vineyards, it offers breathtaking panoramic views over the Rhine, the rolling hills of vines, and the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley. Especially on sunny days or in the evening light, the atmosphere here is truly special and invites you to pause, take in the scenery, and capture unforgettable photos. Whether as the destination of a hike, part of a relaxed day out, or combined with other sights in Rüdesheim, the Niederwald Monument is a place not to be missed.

Drosselgasse

Anyone wanting to experience the true spirit of Rüdesheim should not miss the famous Drosselgasse. This charming lane in the old town is known for its wine taverns, live music, and unique atmosphere among historic buildings and regional delights. It is where Rüdesheim shows its most lively and traditional side.
