Circular Cycle Route from Eltville to Rüdesheim

If you would like to discover the Rheingau by bike, this circular route is a wonderful choice. The tour follows large parts of the Hessian long-distance cycle route R3a and the Rheingau Riesling Route, leading you through idyllic villages, past vineyards, and again and again to impressive views over the Rhine. At around 55 kilometres, it is a moderately challenging ride and ideal for anyone who wants to experience the landscape of the Rheingau in an active and rewarding way.

Along the route, you will encounter a few more demanding climbs, but the effort is always rewarded with magnificent panoramic views over the Rhine Valley. The tour can be completed in around three and a half hours and covers seven stages. At the same time, it is also a journey through the history of the region, following in the footsteps of remarkable figures such as Hildegard of Bingen, Johannes Gutenberg, and Franz Brentano.

Rheingau Riesling Rad

For anyone who would like to discover the Rheingau on two wheels, Rheingau Riesling Rad is a great recommendation. Located in the heart of Rüdesheim, they offer bikes and e-bikes for relaxed rides through the vineyards, along the Rhine, and to many of the region’s most beautiful spots. It is a wonderful option for anyone who would like to explore the area independently and at their own pace.
